Introduction
Welcome back to another seasons of the PEP.GG minecraft server. This season we made a bunch of changes you need to be aware of! I know this is long but please fucking read it.
We also updated our website at PEP.GG if you want to share it with folks you think would make a good addition to the group.
A General Note About 1.21
Mojang has made a lot of changes.
Trial Chambers are known to be kinda bugged. This will get fixed in 1.21.1 - If you hit weirdness with them, blame Mojang. We’re keeping the world border small to start with the 1.21.1 fixes in mind for future expansions.
Community Changes
The PEP.GG community is now invite only. More information can be found on the Invite Only page

Whitelisting & Discord Linking
This one is going to frustrate you because it requires you to get whitelisted again. I promise its for the best.
The server REQUIRES you to link your Minecraft and Discord accounts together in order to be whitelisted. When you attempt to join the server it will give you instructions on how to link your account. You need to do this to play on the server.
You need to use the /link command in Discord, in any channel, and enter the numerical code provided when you try and join.
The Discord bot will tell you if it works.
We also put these directions here for your reference.
Whitelisting Support
If you have any issues with whitelisting, hit up Oxxzyn.
Weekly Restarts
The server is set to restart weekly at around 11am to Noon US Central time on Sundays. Its automated. It gives you a five minute warning, then a warning every minute until it restarts.
This can take a while. Talking like 5-10 minutes. Take the opportunity to take a leak and refresh your beverage. If it doesn’t come back up - Oxxzyn gets yelled at by angry robots who will wake him from is hangover.
Moving to Fabric from Paper
We moved to Fabric as our server software from Paper.
This means the server will actually, allegedly, quite possibly behave like a vanilla Minecraft server.
It also means we are able to use various Fabric mods moving forward. This also means you can use a Fabric mods on your client permitted a server side mod isn’t required that we don’t have.
You Don't Have To Use Fabric
The most amazing fucking this is, if you don’t want to fuck with this you just use your normal Minecraft launcher. You’ll be able to join and use the server just fine.

Crafting Tweaks
Quality-of-life - straight to shapeless - universal dyeing - sandstone dyeing - dropper to dispenser - double slabs - back to blocks
Unpackables

Craftable Saddles
Craftable Saddles is also being added. You can craft your own saddles with leather, string, and trip wire hooks.

AFK Display
Greys out names when AFK.
Added as of June 30th, 2024.
Armored Elytra
Drop your chestplate and your elytra on top of an anvil to combine. Drop them both on top of a grindstone to separate.

Double Shulker Shells
Two shells drop when shulkers are killed.
Added as of June 30th, 2024.
Fast Leaf Decay
Leaves decay quickly when no longer supported by tree trunks.

More Mob Heads
More mob heads!
Added as of June 30th, 2024.
Player Head Drops
Drops player head when killed by another player. Don't kill everyone, mkay?
Added as of June 30th, 2024.
Single Player Sleeping
I’m not even explaining this one in more detail, you get the idea. We do support the Status mod if you really want to ask folks not to sleep.
Simple Voice Chat
This allows proximity voice chat and group based voice chat - in-game. No need to hop on Discord. The mod is not required, and you can join without it installed and/or configured on your client.

Armor Poser
From the mod creator: This mods adds a GUI for armor stands which you can access by shift-clicking on an armor stand, that let’s you set it’s pose and change other properties like giving it arms or hiding the base plate. You can also click items into and out of the armor stand’s hands.
No Phantoms
We disabled Phantoms. We’ve talked about this before as a community. We’re doing it this season. If you really need membranes go find some bats and give em a whack.
Peek
A Fabric mod that provides additional information about items and blocks. Can be used client-side only. Think more useful tooltips, container previews, etc.
No Spawn Chunks
This means farms and other things at spawn will behave like they do in other chunks - A player needs to be near by for them to function. Mojang severely limited the range, and Oxxzyn further disabled things for optimization sake.
Jade
Shows information about what you are looking at. (Hwyla/Waila fork for Minecraft 1.16+). You'll still need the client side mod.
Dynmap
We are using Dynmap again as our map software. Which is always available via map.pep.gg.
Dynmap Signs
You can use signs to create markers that show up on the Dynmap.

Hey pigeons, I am fucking exhausted. So my brain…doesn’t work (shocker). But I wanted to reach out and say thanks for all of the support, friendship, and the four years of adventures that we have shared together. We never thought starting this server would go as well as it has. Honestly, most of that is because of you guys. Showing up, bringing friends, making us laugh.
